The ever popular movie date can make for a perfect romantic evening out on the town. Whether it’s your first date, 10 year anniversary or a group outing, who doesn’t enjoy cozying up in a dark theater with someone whom makes their heart flutter? And to make sure that your movie date experience is a homerun, we leave you with these helpful tips!
SHOW UP EARLY
When you’re heading to the cinema, you want to make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes early. You will definitely need that grace period to find parking, pick your movie (if you haven’t pre-purchased your tickets) and nabbed the perfect seats if your theater does not have reserved seating. And, of course, you want to make a great impression and no one likes it when their date is "tardy for the party!"
PICK THE PERFECT FLICK

Scary movies can be distracting with all of the don’t-look-under-the-bed outbursts. Action movies are exciting to some, but are not everyone's cup of tea. Dramas can be so involving that they distract from the love that is in the air. So the best date -night flick is the ever popular Comedy. This way you keep things light and if your date doesn't have a sense of humor, then they’re probably not the one anyway!
SNACK ATTACK

Movie snacks are our favorite guilty pleasure, so don't be afraid to indulge even on a date. But do be mindful of what you order! Popcorn is greasy and will leave your fingers, and potentially clothes, a buttery mess. Hot dogs aren't the best idea unless you have lots of breath mints to pile in your mouth after you gorge. So we recommend that you stick with the candy section of the concession stand. Anything sweet and tangy will do and you can easily share this snack with your honey and that's a bonus!
NO TEXTING OR TALKING

When you're out on a date, your significant other always wants to feel as though they have your undivided attention... even if you're staring into a 70-foot screen. So under no circumstances (emergencies aside) should you pull out your phone while on your movie date. Not only will your date appreciate the gesture, but the other 100-pluss movie goers in the theater will too!
GET CLOSE... REAL CLOSE

Now that you've settled in to your cushiony theater seats in a dark room inches away from your guy or gal, seize the opportunity to get a little intimate. During the louder movie scenes use this as an excuse to get closer to their ear when making a comment about what is happening on the screen, make sure to offer them snacks so you can "accidentally" tickle their palm when handing over a few of your Junior Mints, and if things are really going well, hand holding inside of the theater is completely allowed and a sweet advance without being too forward.
